Attended Lexington High School or Bedford High School

Have participated in youth, club or school sports

Welcome to the Kent Riley Memorial Scholarship Application 
Instructions for Completing Your Application 
Thank you for your interest in the Kent Riley Memorial Scholarship. This application is 
designed to help us get to know you, your academic and athletic background, and your 
aspirations. Please read the following instructions carefully before beginning your 
application. Lexington High School students should see the guidance office for further instructions.
Application Structure 
The application is organized into three sections, each of which must be completed in full 
before you can proceed to the next. The application is hosted on a Google Form found above—please 
ensure you have all necessary information and documents ready before you begin. 
1. Contact Details: In this section, you will be asked to provide your personal and 
contact information. 
2. Academic and Athletic Background: Here, you will share details about your 
college plans, chosen major, and your high school experience. 
3. Essay Questions: You will answer three essay prompts to help us understand your 
motivations and values: 
4. Describe a specific situation from your time participating in sports that helped you 
decide on your chosen field or prepared you for success in that field. (250 words or 
less) 
5. Please identify at least one course you have taken in school and describe how it has 
inspired or prepared you to enter your chosen field. (150 words or less) 
6. How do you hope to use your professional role to serve others after the successful 
completion of your education? (350 words or less) 
Required Attachments 
 Transcripts: Please upload your most recent academic transcripts. 
 Coach’s Recommendation: A recommendation letter from one of your current or former 
coaches is required. If you are a previous scholarship winner reapplying, 
this recommendation is not needed.
